Herein was reported experiences on vascular grafts transplanted for a blood access in chronic hemo-dialysis patients at the Yokohama City University Hospital during 1971-1978 period.

Ten E-PTFE grafts (Impra graft), 3 bovine grafts and 3 autografts were transplanted mostly as a forearm loop graft in 14 cases of chronic hemodialysis patients who failed to have adequate conventional blood access.

The E-PTFE grafts functioned 9.3 months on the average. Six month and 1 year patency of the same grafts were 70 and 50% respectively. The bovine grafts showed the most favorable result, whereas the autografts were poorest.
