In the midnight, when he went to toilet, he recognized an uncomfortable feeling on his left half of the body. Next mor-ning, when he wanted to go to toilet again, he could not get up. After few hours his left arm was paralysed. On the following day his right arm was also paralysed and vomiting occurred. The temperature was 37.5℃. On 8. Jan. 1954 he could not drink water and admitted in our hospltal. His 4 extremities were paralysed and reflexes were increased.

Pathologic reflex was not seen. Under his shoulder-high sensibility was also damaged and on the 8 day after admission he died. The aut-opsy revealed that the upper portion of the spi-nal cord was destroyed by bleeding, which probably occurred from the rupture of a hema-ngioma in the spinal cord.
