Cases of neuroglia nests (Wolbach), meningeal gliomatosis (astrocytoma) associated with a me-ningioma, cortical spongioblastoma by v. Recklin-ghausen's disease and glia hernia (Wolbach) by increased intracranial pressure (brain tumors) were reported with comment of theory of French school regarding meningiomas as a peripheral glioma. On histological viewpoint, gliomas should be distinguished strictly from meningiomas of arachnoidal cell origin; i. e. arachnothelioma and its derivatives. Writers, therefore, are of opinion that any tumor presenting histologic fea-tures of central glia should be excluded from meningioma proper. Although writers support the mesectoderm theory (Platt, Stone, Raven etc. ) of modern embryology, they adopt the term "peripheral glia" to Schwannian cells solely.
