  • Look Inside

In patients with valvular regurgitation, deter-mination of the cardiac output (CO) by the area method on radiocardiogram (RCG) seems to be associated with an excessive estimation of the area resulting in under-estimation of the CO. Therefore, it should ideally be done before a flow-curve is affected by regurgitation in this method.

An attempt was made to determine the CO by the area method on the Pulmonary Vascular Dilution Curve (PVDC) where Stewart-Hamilton of dye dilution was applied.
