人工pacemaker overdriveによる心臓手術後不整脈の治療

Treatment of postoperative arrhythmias by means of artifical pacemaker overdrive

　各種心疾患の手術後に重症不整脈をきたすことがあるが，とくに近年，重症患者も根治手術の対象となってきたため，手術自身は成功しても，手術後，重症不整脈のため死亡する症例もみられる。

　従来，心内膜床欠損症，心室中隔欠損症，ファロー四徴症など，手術時または手術後に房室ブロックが発生するおそれのある患者では，手術中に人工ペースメーカー用の心筋電極を縫着していた。

Postoperative cardiac arrhythmias were usually treated by the administration of lidocaine or procainamide. In some cases, however, those injections were not effective to treat frequent appearance of ventricular premature beats often followed by ventricular fibrillations.

Authors experienced artificial pacemakers overdriving was very useful in order to prevent postoperative patients from those severe arrhythmias that were not treated by the use of lidocaine or procainamide.
