Observation of coronary sinus blood and myocardial viability were studied in dogs after one and a half hour periods of com-plete cardiac arrest. As a method of cardiac arrest, elective hypothermic arrest was used under intermediate perfusion hypothermia at 25 degrees centigrade and coronary blood flow was interrupted completely.
Metabolic acidosis occurred in both groups after complete cardiac arrest but there were no significant difference between both groups. However, all cases were alive following restoration of coronary circula-tion.
