Stricture, bleeding, or penetrating disease are the indications of surgery for Crohn's disease. The proper timing for surgery is unclear because intestinal complications develop among several grades. The most important principal rule in surgery for Crohn's disease is avoiding future short bowel syndrome due to extended or repeated intestinal resection. Furthermore, the collaboration between medical and surgical treatments pre- and postoperatively is important. Multidisciplinary approaches are required for anal lesions which caused permanent ostomy creation. However, we should mention about carcinogenesis, especially in anal lesions.
