The most important evidence of gastric MALT(mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue)lymphoma is obtained from HE(hematoxylin and eosin)staining of specimens. The shape and pattern of infiltrating lymphoid cells, and lymphoepithelial lesions are clues for diagnosis. Specific immunological marker has not yet been established. Regarding molecular mechanisms, the key event of MALT lymphoma is NF-κB activation by various pathways.
