Various types of malignant lymphomas are found in the intestine. Follicular lymphomas frequently arise from the duodenum. Most T-cell lymphomas are in the small intestines except for the duodenum. They are often associated with deep ulcer formation and/or perforations, and the patient's prognosis is generally poor. In the large intestine, MALT lymphomas and DLBCLs are predominant. The former frequently show protruded lesions, and some cases show t(11;18)(q21;q21)that is associated with overexpression of BCL10 and higher clinical staging than negative ones. Multi-organ MALT lymphomas often involve the large intestines. Mantle cell lymphomas frequently show countless thousands of polyps: “lymphomatous polyposis”. They are diagnosed by overexpression of cyclin D1 which is related to t(11;14)(q13;q32).
