In a man 47 years of age a Ⅱc early gastric cancer was found on the anterior wall at the level of the angle, associated with depressed atypical epithelium. Before the operation ink spots had been made around the lesions, so that we were able to correlate exactly the findings of the resected stomach with those of endoscopy and histopathology. Our ink spot method proved to be of great help in endoscopy for the detection of Ⅱb or other small early gastric cancer.
