It goes without saying that what we usually observe well by endoscopy is important for the pickup of Barrett's esophageal cancer. Because there is much Barrett's esophageal cancer developing from SSBE in Japan, a detailed observation of the esophago-gastric junction is important to pick up Barrett's esophageal cancer.

Superficial Barrett's esophageal cancer that we encountered in our department was often present in the direction of the anterior-right wall. More than 80% of lesions could be detected endoscopically by their reddish mucosal changes. Therefore, it is important to check the reddish mucosal change which is present at the anterior-right wall in Barrett's mucosa.
