 The endoscopic diagnosis of a flat-type early gastric cancer is often difficult. Although endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)is expected to reduce the local recurrence of gastric cancers, we still experience cases of recurrence after an ESD. To reduce the local recurrence, it is very important to identify the accurate demarcation line of the lesion. Previously, we developed a new chromoendoscopic method using an acetic acid-indigo carmine mixture(AIM)and reported the advantages of this method. In this study, we estimate the efficacy of this new chromoendoscopic method using AIM in diagnosing flat type early gastric cancers.
