Since the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995, large-scale disasters have occurred in various regions of Japan. Significant progress has been made in designing disaster prevention measures and establishing disaster support systems and organizations. However, little attention has been given to the voices and experiences of therapists in disaster-affected areas. Taking this conference as an opportunity, we aim to share the thoughts and experiences of therapists who have lived through large-scale disasters. While being disaster victims themselves, these therapists continued their professional activities within their workplaces and communities. What did they think and feel as they carried out their work? Who did they share these experiences with? By reflecting on and summarizing their internal conflicts and uncertainties, we hope to raise important questions regarding future disaster support and collaboration among therapists.
