要旨

　食道疾患の病態を把握するためには，まず解剖学と組織学の基礎に立ち返って正常食道の解剖や組織像と内視鏡像との関連を解説するが，次項の病理や食道観察法と重なる部分も多いため，ここでは内視鏡像と関連した基本的事項を記述する。

　The relations between endoscopic findings and the basic anatomy and fundamental histological structures in the normal esophagus are described in this article, in order to facilitate understanding of various esophageal abnormal findings and diseases,
