Interventional radiology for acute abdomen

急性腹症ガイドライン2015年版によると，急性腹症は「発症1週間以内の急性発症で，手術などの迅速な対応が必要な腹部（胸部等も含む）疾患」と定義されている。interventional radiology（IVR：画像下治療）は「手術などの迅速な対応」の一部と考えられ，放射線科医は患者の救命，予後の改善のために重要な役割を担っている。

Interventional radiology（IR）for acute abdomen covers a wide range of diseases and procedures. However, the key differences from other IR procedures are that it is sometimes performed on patients with unstable vital signs, and IR for acute abdomen cannot be performed in a sufficiently organized setup：treatment team including non-IR doctor, treatment plan, available devices, laboratory, and so on. These factors often cause difficulties in the treatment. This article described the basic procedures with actual cases of IR for acute abdomen and also explained the preparation for emergency IR as an essential factor in reducing procedural difficulties.
