小児の画像診断が難しいと感じる理由のひとつに，気になった所見が真の病変なのか，あるいは正常変異や成長の未熟な部分をみているのかが判別しにくい点がある。成長のスピードも人それぞれであることから実に多くのvariationが存在するのだが，本稿ではおもに乳児期に問題となるような偽病変とその鑑別となる病態について取り上げていく。

I present some normal variants and pitfalls of pediatric neuroimaging. But there are numerous findings according to pediatric development process, for this issue, I take up white matter’s abnormal intensity under the myelination process, cystic lesions adjacent to the lateral ventricles, extraaxial collections, skull fracture and suture, skull defect and those differential diagnoses. It is interesting to read pediatric images that some findings which are usually normal are sometimes linked to specific syndromes.
