4名の新生児から分離されたMRSA株の解析

Analysis of MRSA strains isolated from four neonates in Pediatric Ward

　小児科病棟の新生児室に入院した4名の新生児からMRSAが繰り返し分離された。本研究では、これらの新生児にMRSAが分離された後、新生児室の環境、及び患児と接触のあった者からMRSAを分離し、パルスフィールド電気泳動法を用いて染色体DNAの制限酵素切断パターンによる菌株の解析を行い、菌株の由来と菌の移行経路について検討した。これらの新生児から分離した株の制限酵素切断パターンは互いによく類似しており、新生児間で菌が移行した可能性が示唆された。

　MRSA strains were isolated repeatedly from four neonates during recurrent episodes of infection in a pediatric ward. The restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) by SmaI was analyzed by pulsed field gel electrophoresis using the CHEF system. The RFLPs from each patient were almost identical to one another, suggesting that they carried a single type of MRSA. We also found a similarity in MRSA strains from patients and medical staffs. These results suggest the possibility of transmission of MRSA strains between patient to patient. The RFLP analysis has been proved to be useful for epidemiological study.
