幽門後に栄養チューブを留置する操作は，先端位置をモニタリングすることと，先端を幽門に向けて進める手技の2つからなる。前者は機器の発達により進歩がみられるが，後者は個々の施行者の熟練度に依存しており，成功率もこれに大きく依存しているのが現状である。挿入する技術に関しても標準化可能な方法の進歩が期待される。

The technique for placing a feeding tube beyond the pylorus requires monitoring the tip position and advancing the tube toward the pylorus. Although monitoring the tip position has evolved with the development of new technology, advancing the tube is operator-dependent. Since the skill for advancing the tube depends on the skill of the operator, the success rate is not constant. It is expected that technology to help advance the tube beyond the pylorus will be developed and become standardized.
