I．緒言
1869年MischerはNucleinなる略々純粋な核物質を発見し，Altmannはその酸性成分に核酸なる名称を与えた。そして核酸に関して特に研究され注目されたのは，1940年，第二次大戦中で欧米に於いて色々の分野にかつて見られなかつた程めざましい進展を示し，蛋白，脂肪，含水炭素と並んで生体に取つて重要な物質としての地位を確保した。さきにCasperssonは細胞質に於けるRibo核酸（RNA）は蛋白合成の機能と関係がある事を指摘している。各種細胞に於いてRNAの多いところでは蛋白の合成が盛んであると云う事実から，最近の新しい研究によるとRNAの生体内での役割は蛋白合成の際に何か鋳型（Template）様の作用をつかさどつているのであろうと云われている。翻つて造血機能に及ぼす核酸の作用は，すでにKimm，Spies，Thompson，等が白血球減少症の治療に有効である事を指摘している。そこで私は直接核酸を骨髄組織に添加することにより，その影響を検討したので茲に報告する。
We observed the influence of nucleic acid on bone marrow culture.
First, by means of hanging drop culture, when RNA had been added on the rabbit bone marrow tissue fragment, the growth index and the function were higher than when RNA had not been added.
Secondly, by means of simple method of culture, when it had been added on the normal and aplastic aneamia human bone marrow, the influence was also conspicuous.
The mixed addition of RNA and VB12 was more effective than the simple addition of RNA.
The influence of DNA was not marked.
