超高齢社会を迎えたわが国では，認知症者の増加を抑えることが喫緊の課題である。社会的孤立や孤独感は，認知症発症リスクを高める危険因子であることが国内外の疫学研究で示されている。社会的孤立による脳への刺激の減少や主観的なつながり不足による孤独感の状態が長期化すると，認知症の発症リスクが上昇することが報告されている。高齢者への社会的支援や孤独感の軽減が，認知症発症のリスク低減において重要であろう。

Abstract

As Japan is becoming a super-aged society, addressing the rising prevalence of dementia has become an urgent public health priority. Epidemiological studies, both domestic and international, have identified social isolation and loneliness as significant risk factors for dementia onset. Long-term reductions in cognitive stimulation due to social isolation and persistent subjective feelings of disconnection are associated with an increased risk of dementia. Therefore, providing social support to older adults and mitigating loneliness are essential measures to reduce the risk of dementia.
