先輩技師：なぜ，執筆者は略語に関してこんなおかしな間違いをするんでしょうか？

　英文編集者：私はこう思います．執筆者は急いで書いています．だから，略語のチェックは後でするつもりでいます．しかし，書き終わってから，チェックのための見直しをしていません．チェックというのは，例えば略語を何回使ったかなどのチェックのことです．また，特に日本では，流行の略語を実際の単語だと思っている人もいるようです．RNAとDNAだけについては，私もそんな風な感じがします．だから，私にはそういう人たちの気持ちが理解できます．でも，それは間違っています．

Senior technologist: Why do writers make such ridiculous mistakes with abbreviations?

English editor: I think the writer is writing quickly, intending to check the abbreviations later, but doesn't go back to check at the end of writing to see, for example, how many times he used the abbreviation. Also, some people, especially in Japan, seem to think that a popular abbreviation is really a word. I feel this way only about the abbreviations RNA and DNA. So I can understand their feeling, but it's wrong.
