Lupus Erythematosus Latex Tests Compared with the Immunofluorescence Method for Antinuclear Factor

　市販されている2つのLEラテックステストを抗体価既知の抗核抗体陽性血清について比較した．ハイランドLEテストキットに比して，レダリーSLEラテックステストキットがより特異的で，特に高いANF抗体価について相対的により鋭敏であった．ラテックステストは迅速，簡単な方法であって，陽性の時は全身性エリテマトーデスか他の膠原病を疑うことができる．しかし，現在のところこの検査はANFを検出する免疫螢光法と置き換えることはできない．臨床的にSLEまたはそれに類縁の病態の疑いある場合には，すべての陰性成績は免疫螢光法によって検査されなければならない．

Two commercially available lupus erythematosus^*1 (LE) latex tests were compared againstpositive antinuclear antibody (ANF)^*2 sera of known titers ^*3. The Lederle SLE Latex Test Kit was foundto be more specific and relatively more sensitive, particulary with high ANF titers, than the Hyland LETest Kit. The latex test is a rapid, simple method which, when positive, can be suggestive of ^*4 systemiclupus erythematosus (SLE) or other collagen disease. However, at present this test cannot replace theimmunofluorescence method ^*5 for detecting ANF. Where there is any clinical suggestion of SLE or arelated condition, all negative results should be tested by immunofluorescence methods.
