- Abstract 文献概要
まずはじめに，コンピューターはデータを移したり，貯蔵したり，また我々の計算を行うのに役立つ一つの道具です，我々がコンピューターを管理するのです．コンピューターは我々の主人でもなければ，考えることもしません．それは単に我々が読むべく与えたもののみを読み，そして我々が指示したことを予定どおりに迅速にかつ疲れることなく遂行します．たとえ巨大な事務室で多数の要員が働いたとしても，我々ではそのような短い時間内に処理できないような問題を解いてしまいます．
First, a computer is a tool to help*1 transmit data, store data and perform our calculations. We control the computer. The computer is not our master and it dose not think. It reads only what*2 we give it to read and it carries out our instructions swiftly and tirelessly in a predictable fashion. It solves problems which we could*3 not possibly manage in such a short time even with a very large staff working in a huge office area.
