I．はじめに

　鼓室内チューブ挿入・留置による滲出性中耳炎の治療は現在広く行われている。しかし1954年にArmstrong^1）が初めて鼓室内チューブ挿入を報告して以来種々のチューブが開発され報告されてきたが，それぞれ長所，短所があり，いまだ完成されたチューブといえるものはない。現在までのチューブの改良はチューブの形態に関するものが主であり，その材質に関してはシリコン，テフロン以外はほとんどみられない。

　今回われわれはアパタイトセラミックス（水酸アパタイト焼結体）から作られた鼓室内留置チューブを難治性の滲出性中耳炎の症例に使用し一応の成績を得たので報告する。

　New ceramic ventilation tubes were used in 20patients of otitis media with effusion. The tube is made of new ceramic (sintered hydroxyl apatite), and its shape is almost same as usual ventilation tube.

　The patients were followed from 1 to 11 months. In 7 of 20 cases, the tube was extruded spontaneously from the tympanic membrane within 6 months. The tubes were taken out in 2 cases as they required.

　The other cases were under observation. The tube has no disadvantages compared with other ventilation tubes, and we are very satisfied with the results of this ceramic tube.
