耳科手術におけるアパタイトセラミックスの有用性について

Availability of the Hydroxylapatite Ceramics in Ear Surgery

I．はじめに

　近年，手術に際し人工材料が用いられる頻度が増加してきている^1）。耳鼻咽喉科領域においても同様であり，耳手術では鼓膜穿孔や耳小骨連鎖の修復に人工材料が用いられている。しかしながら，それらの材質は未だ十分満足すべきものではなく，その理由は，それらの人工材料がおこす異物反応に原因があると考えられる。

　我々は，合成のアパタイトセラミックスのもつ組織親和性がきわめて良いという特徴^2〜5）に着目し，昭和56年2月以来耳手術に用いており，現在までに30例以上の症例を重ねた結果．期待通りの成果をえたので以下に報告する。

　Hydroxylapatite ceramics have recently attracted a special attention as a prosthetic inlay because of good biocompatibility. Porous ceramic plates with 55% of pore rate were applied to 25 cases of middle ear surgery.

　Although the follow-up on these cases was short for realistic evaluation, the initial results showed a satisfactory condition with a good affinity to the vital tissues. It is stressed that this material can be applied not only to ear surgery but also to many other reconstructive surgeries.
