I．はじめに

　新生児上顎骨骨髄炎は稀な疾患である。種々の抗生剤が開発，使用される現在においてはなおさら経験する機会は少なくなろう。しかし耐性菌の出現により難治性の合併症を伴う症例に遭遇することが予想される。今回著者らは眼窩内膿瘍および急性中耳炎を伴った1症例を経験したので報告する。

　A female infant developed maxillary osteomyelitis with orbital abscess and acute otitis media

　She had a high fever, left exophthalmus and left aural discharge at the 15th day of age.

　Maxillary osteomyelitis was recognized on bone scintigraphy and computed tomography, and bacteriological examination disclosed penicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

　She was treated by operation and drainage of the paranasal sinuses and with antibiotics. She was improved and discharged from hospital after fourty days of admission.

　The route of infection, treatments and prognosis were discussed.
