I．はじめに

　急激な呼吸困難を伴って発症する急性喉頭気管気管芝炎に関する報告は，欧米で多くみられ本邦でも散見されるが，その病因，症候，治療などについて不明な点も多く，それぞれの報告者によりさまざまな検索がなされているが，いまだにはっきりしないことが多いようである。

　われわれは比較的まれな成人発症例で特異な症状を伴った1例を経験したので，文献上の症例も検討し考察を加えたいと思う。

　A 51-year-old female developed laryngotracheobronchitis with arthritis, hematuria and proteinuria. In laboratory data, ASO, ASK and γ-globulin levels were significantly elevated, then they were decreased in proportion to improvement of the symptoms. At first the patient was treated with broad spectrum antibiotics but dyspnea became worse. Corticosteroids was administrated 5 days after admission, and dyspnea, arthritis and other symptoms were improved. The causes of these symptoms were thought to be a focal infection resulting from upper respiratory streptococcal inflammation.
