　甲状腺癌，喉頭癌，頸部食道癌やそれらの転移，気管腫瘍，気管外傷などのため，頸部気管を切除しなければならぬことがある。範囲の小さい窓形切除には，特別に気管の再形成を必要としないが，全周，半周切除には，形成手術がしばしば必要である。著者は甲状腺癌の喉頭，気管内浸潤に，鼻中隔を利用して，喉頭，気管の一次的再建に成功したので，その概要を述べる。

　An adenocarcinoma of the thyroid gland was found to be involving the tracheal rings from the subglottic region. These involvements were removed surgically, en bloc, along with the involved right lobe of the thyroid which created a large dehiscence in the trachea. This dehiscence was covered by a plastic flap taken from the nasal septum.

　Two years after this operation the patient is in a good health and the tracheal space is well maintained, although the patient is devoid of the nasal septum.
