　耳管については種々多方面から研究されてきたにもかかわらず，直接耳管鼻咽腔開口部（以下開口部と略す）を観察した報告は少なく，わずかValentin^1），大沢^2）3）らのAntroscopeを使用しての観察，Henry^4）が映画による開口部の動きを報告したものなどにすぎない。私もこの開口部の観察を行なうため，種々既製の内視鏡を使用してみたが，いずれも光量の不足，映像の歪み，不鮮明，あるいは鏡胴が太いための操作の困難などの欠点があり，目的に合致するものがなかつた。

　そこで最近のオプチック・グラスファイバー，オプチック・レンズの発達，これらの医療内視鏡への応用などから考えて，日常使用簡便な内視鏡の作製を行なつた。

　The conventional endoscope for making observations of the orifice of the Eustachian tube is not devoid of several defects because it is composed of an antroscope. Observations for finer parts with such an instrument are a difficulty due to insufficient light as well as the instrument being either too thick or too thin.

　For this reason a new endoscope is introduced which is provided with a tremendously advanced optic glass fiber and optic lens and Xenon Short Arc lamp for light sources which allows photographing as well as movie taking. The instrument is quite compact in size. Pictures taken by the instrument are presented.
