Sixteen cases of dizziness which was brou-ght on by a sudden change of position from the sitting to standing, "arising dizziness", that was apparently due to inflammation of the nasopharynx were observed and treated.

Arising dizziness is an instability of balance which definitely differ from that of aural origin in that it is not rotatory in character but, is accompanied by symptoms which point towards those of transcient cerebral anemia.

In treatment of these cases the therapy was directed towards nasopharyngeal mucous membrane which was painful to touch and readily bleeding. Tissue studies were made by swab specimen. As the nasopharyngeal inflammatory conditions subsided the attacks of dizziness gradually decreased in number and the patients were completely cured.
