Ⅰ．緒言
慢性扁桃炎，なかでも慢性病巣性扁桃炎に関する研究は，ますます複雑な問題の究明へと進展している。しかし臨床的にわれわれが常に要求されることは，病巣としての扁桃炎の診断である。今日，扁桃病巣と全身的続発疾患との関連性については，細菌感染に起因する抗原性物質によるアレルギーがその発生機序と考えられている。
そこでわれわれは，各種の球菌より調製された抗原の多価混合物であるPaspat液による皮内反応を通して，慢性扁桃炎の診断に際し，どの程度意義があるか検討し，また病巣性扁桃炎の二次疾患治癒状況と本皮内反応との関連性を観察し，若干の知見を得たので報告する次第である。
Results of intracutaneous injections of Paspat solution for definitive diagnosis of chronic tonsillitis are reported.
The positive test in simple chronic tonsillitis was 27.3% while in focal chronic tonsillitis it was 42.1%; negative changes that followed tonsillectomy in the simple chronic tonsillitis were very few in number (25.5%).
The test in all cases was found to become negative as soon as the patient recovers from the tonsillar systemic disease.
Positive reaction with Paspat appeared to fluctuate clinically paralleling with the bacterial allergy present.
