　Ⅰ．緒言

　1929年Lewisによつてアレルギー性中耳炎が報告されて以来，欧米においては盛んにアレルギー性中耳炎の臨床的ならびに実験的研究がなされている。しかるにわが国においては中耳炎がアレルギーの立場より研究された報告は国見の研究のほか数少い報告をみるに過ぎない。国見によるとカタル性中耳炎は多くは慢性経過をとり，その大部にアレルギー素因を認めている。適当な治療により治癒するものもあるが，長期適切な治療によるも治癒せず慢性化あるいは再三反復罹患することがあることをしばしば経験する。かかる中耳炎については身体の抵抗が減弱している為であるとか，体質であるとかただ漠然と説明し，その本体の解明に関しては今日なおなおざりにされている感がある。慢性カタル性中耳炎患者の治癒し難い原因の一つにアレルギー因子の関与している場合が多くあることはわれわれの教室の研究業績によつて明らかである。

　食餌性および細菌性抗原を用いての皮内反応，沈降反応によつて検出した抗原を用いての特異的脱感作療法は現実には諸種の困難を伴う。

A study on nonspecific desensitization in treatment of chronic catarrhal otitis media was attempted by use of Paspat which was administered intracutaneously 0.2cc 5 to 7 days apart for a number 10 injections. Ten patients were selected in this study. The results were as follows:

1. The treatment was effective in 5 patie-nts; moderately in 2; no change was seen in 3.

2. In number of cases the skin reaction against Paspat, food derivatives and bacterial product as antigens was completeiy normalized or highly attenuated by the treament: aural and nasal discharges became improved or cu-red; eosinophilia and serum protein fractionat-ion reverted to normalcy or near normal.

3. Paspat treatment appeared to be more effective when a case showed a strong skin reaction in the test with the agent and prev-alance of eosinophilia in the nasal and aural discharges than as not. Consequently, the latter conditions may be considered as di-agnostic earmarks in instituting this treatment.
