Ⅰ．緒言
われわれが日常臨床で多くの感音性難聴患者を診察するとき，その病歴，職歴，家族歴あるいは種々の臨床検査結果からしても，その発病の原因が明らかにできない場合が少なくない。ある学者は感音性難聴のうちでは，原因不明のものがもつとも多いという。
最近，著者はこれらのなかでも，特に若年期に，徐々に発病してくる原因不明の感音性難聴の症例に興味を持つた。この種の疾患は臨床的にはあまりに静的であり，またその原因を追究してみたところで，現在の治療手段の上に有効に反映しえないという点からも，その研究が等閑視されたむきがある。
A series of 103 cases (52 males and 51 females) are reported. The onset of the deafness mostly ranged from age ten to fourteen years.
There were several audiometric patterns in which the low or middle tone deafness was frequently found, Symmetrical audiometric patterns were seen in more than eighty per cent.
Deafness may incrcase relatively soon after the onset of the disease but thereafter stop progressing. Some clinical tests showed thatthe inner ear was the site of lesion.
From these data there seems a certain hereditary background in the perceptive deafness of unknown causes.
