　Ⅰ．はじめに

　表題の中耳癒着症という言葉は病名にはないもので，従来つかわれているものはもつぱら癒着性中耳炎（Otitis media adhaesiva），或は鼓膜癒着症なる名称で記載されている。

　茲に私共の唱える中耳癒着症（一応ここではAdhaesivprozessとしておく）とは，広義の意味であり，従来の癒着性中耳炎或は中耳カタル等も勿論この中に含まれるのであるが，その他いろいろの原因によつて成立すると思われる中耳の癒着病変或は癒着現象を総称するのである（第1表，第2表参照）。

The problem of adhesions that exist in va-rious forms in the middle ear cavity was par-ticularly noted as an aftermath following the experience of having operated in a great number of cases of tympanoplasty.

In the present paper the definition as well as the cause of mid-ear adhesions are discu-ssed. For causative factors of this disease considerations should be given to the special anatomical structure of this area, the type of inflammatory invasion, idiosyncracy, allergy, rheumatic attacks, diseases of internal organs and metabolic disturbances. Furthermore, the adhesion may be the result of particular type of treatment adapted for the treatment of acute inflammatory symptoms as the time or of a partilar medication employed.
