　Ⅰ，緒言

　耳鼻咽喉科領域の悪性腫瘍に対する治療法としては，現在外科的手術療法が最も優れているが，手術不能例及び術後の再発転移予防のためには，化学療法も試みられるべきものと思われる。

　癌の化学療法は，抗癌剤の正常体細胞への副作用を恐れて，長期少量投与が主として行われているが，その一回投与については未だ検討の余地があると思われる。

The effect of short-deriod, large dosage administration of mytomomycin has been given a trial in 7 cases of malignancy that occured in the field of otolaryngology. Though temporarily the effects appeared to he favo-rable. Microscopically the agent appeared to be effective in producing cellular changes of swelling and disintergration in the cancer cells. However, the agent seemed to have a disadvantageous leucopenia. If this latter drawback could be overcome by some other therapeutic means mytomycin may be a wor-thwhile amarmentarium towards the fight against cancer.
