　緒言

　眼窩は副鼻腔に隣接しており，且つ両者の境界骨及び脈管系などの解剖学的関係により，副鼻腔の炎症或は腫瘍が波及して，しばしば鼻性眼合併症を来すことは周知の通りである。

　私は最近鼻疾患に基づくと考えられる眼球突出症例を経験したので，若干の考察を加えここに報告する。

Takeyama reports 3 cases of exophthalmos due to sinusitis. In one case the maxillary and ethmoid sinuses were found to be highly involved with inflammatory process. In the second case the inflammation of the nasal sinuses was found to be extending into the ocular fossa to cause also an irritation of the cerebral meninges. In the third case the post-erior group of sinuses alone were found to be involved. All three cases were treated surgi-cally.
