　緒言

　鼻腔異物は決して稀なものではないが，実際にはさらに医師を訪れる前に摘出されるものも多いと思われる。而して屡々経験される如くその嵌入動機は小児が遊戯中誤つて挿入し，抜去不能となり，或いはそのまま忘却放置されたものが大部分であり，外傷性の鼻腔異物は平時に於ては少い。

　私は最近転落によつて前鼻孔より嵌入した竹片が，1年6カ月の長期に亘り看過されていたが鼻出血と高熱を訴えて始めて，注意を喚起された1例を経験したので報告する。

A case of foreign body for eighteen months in the left nasal cavity of a girl resulting from accident is reported with discussions and comments of other similar cases in the literature.

The patient had had no complaints for early six months after being injured, but there had been many symptoms such as a purulent and foul discharge and bleeding for the last twelve months and at last her parents took her to the O. R. L. Department of the University Hospital for the continued fever and other serious signs. Most of the symptoms have vanished in three days after removing a piece of bamboo, size 0.6cm 5.0 cm, weight 1.4g, from the nasal cavity under general anesthesia.
