慢性鼻炎は臨床的に次のように分類することが出来る。
単純性慢性鼻炎
For treatment of chronic rhinitis accompanied by nasal obstruction, particularly vasomotor in type, a weak submucous electrocoagulation of the turbinate is recommended. In the usual procedure of electrocoagulation the healing process of the coagulated turbinate is remarkably prolonged because of the ensuing necrosis in the submucousal tissue. Such a necrosis fail to occur when a weak 5-10 Watt electrocoagulation is used. This result is further confirmed by histological examination of the exposed tissue: The epithelium was kept intact. The lumen of the veins in the submucousa and the cavernous tissue was notably narrowed. The loose tissue in the submucosa was decreased in its density and infiltrated with round cells particularly by the eosinophils.
This procedure is repeated twice a week and continued for 4-5 weeks in duration.
