　Ⅰ．緒言

　従来慢性の下甲介肥大による鼻閉塞症状に対して，下甲介切除術（Conchotomie），下甲介骨の粘膜下切除術（Submucöse Conchotomie），下甲介粘膜の切割術（Inzision），又は電気弱凝固（或いは焼灼）術等が行なわれて来たが，今回肥厚性鼻炎及びアレルギー性鼻炎の下甲介のみに電気弱凝固療法を施行し，きわめて有効な成績を得たので報告致します。

A low-grade electrocoagulation of the inferior turbinates was performed in 10 cases of hypertrophic turbinates and 10 case of allergic rhinitis. The results in all cases, thus treated, were considered as to be good within the 2 months immediately foll-owing this procedure. In the immediate period after tne procedure, microscopic pic-ture of the nasal mucous membrane showed a loss of cellular infiltration, degeneration of secretory glands, vascular occlusion and proliferation of fibrous tissues. For proper evaluation of this method of treatment, the author maintains that further accumulation of necessary data are needed
