　緒言

　1949年Kidderは8-アザグアニンが癌細胞のグアニン代謝を阻害する点に着目研究し，8-アザグアニンが悪性腫瘍の発育抑制作用のあることを認めた。以来実験的，臨牀的研究が進められ本剤の癌発育抑制作用が確認された。外科，婦人科，内科領域からその臨牀成績が報告されている。吾々は今回本剤の提供を受け，耳鼻咽喉科領域に於ける癌患者に対する治療経験を得たのでこゝに報告する。

The effect of use of 8-azaguanin in 9 cases of malignancy that occurred in areas included in the field of otolaryngology: result 3 cases among the 9, thus treated, appeared to be favorable. However, the favorable effect was no more than a temporary remission without establishing a fundamental cure. The agent appeared to be the most effective towards epithelioma rather than other forms of malig-nancy. Side-effects by use of the agent is noted among the 6 of the 9 cases treated which proved to be only temporary in effect.
