扁摘が奏効した一側耳管開放症々例

　Ⅰ．緒言

　耳管開放症の原因には色々の因子が考えられ未だ明かでない点もあり，従つて治療法としても種種の方法が試みられている。我々は一例ではあるが一側の耳管開放症々例に遭遇し，初診時後和蓋弓が左右非対称と云う興味ある咽頭所見を示し，扁摘により主訴と共に咽頭の形態的異常も消失治癒したので，本症例の成因につき考察し私見を述べ御批判を乞う次第である。

MUKUNO and SUYEYOSHI report that, in their case in whom abnormal patency of Eus-tachian tube was found,a cure is effected with tonsillectomy. The patient, a man aged 26, was affected with this disease following an ex-cessive loss of weight and over-exhaustion. Physical examination revealed disparity in the curvature of the palatine arch in that the leg of the arch belonging to the side of the aff-ected ear appeared to be fallen. Tonsillect-omy was performed ; the operation was instr-umental not only in recovery of symptoms but also, in re-establishment of a normal con-tour in the palatine arch. The authors assume that the underlying cause that effected this disparation as it is described to be a loss of tonus in the muscles that support the structure of the arch namely, pharyngo-palatinus and salping-opharygeus. They believe that, for an effe-ctive cure of this disease showing signs of dis-parity in the curvature of the palatine arch, tonsillectomy is highly indicated.
