　現今梅毒は普遍的な疾患であり，身體の如何なる部位にも發見し得るが，唾液腺が侵される事は稀で，その症朕も特異性が無く世人から餘り注目されない所で，往々眞性腫瘍と誤られ手術を施行される場合もある。吾々は最近經驗した本症の1例に就て詳細に報告し些か考按して見たい。

　MAEKAWA and TANAKA report a case of parotiditis which was syphilitic in origin with review of literature on the subject. The chief complaint of the patient, a man aged 52, was swelling of parotid glands to the size of a fist on both sides; history revealed duration of 30 years since appearance of the primary lesion. From the results of various laboratory examinations and therapeutic measure such as. blood, sialography, biopsy of the liver and antisyphilitiz the diagnosis of syphilis, which progressed to its third stage of infection that involved the parotid glands with interstitial fibrotic induration, was confirmed. The patient was clinically cured by use of penicillin combined with neosalvarsan.
