交感神經痛樣症状を伴える異常莖状突起症例

　咽頭痛の特殊な場合として長大莖状突起をその原因として擧げたのは既に遠く1652年の事である。然し當時尚この問題は世人の注意を喚起する迄に至らず，吾々の知る限りに於てはAlfred Bruckの著書Die Krankheiten der Nase und Mundhöhle sowie des Rachens und Kehlkopfs 2. Auflage（1912），st. e. ThomsonのDiseases of the nose ＆ throat（第2版1916），von Berberich：Die Krankheiten des Rachens und Kehlkopfes及びDenker u. Kahler第3巻に於るF. Blumenfeldの記載以外にはその記載を見ず，我が國の教科書には全くその病名すら發見し得ないのである。

　Harburgerに依ればこの長大莖状突起を始めて記載したのはGeofroyst. Hilaire（1652）である。その後19世紀の終りになつてRethiを始めRichardson，Bacher，Schenke，von Eicken，Gruber，Porter，Merckel，Deichert，Dwight，Grazebroak，Retti，Patterson，Moscher等幾多の報告が相次いで發表せられるに及んで世人の注目は改めてこの方面に注がれるに至つたのである。殊にvon Eickenの報告は岡田和一郞教授が以てEicken病と稱せられたる如く自家經驗例に基いて詳細なる臨床的觀察と共にその發生及び病理解剖について論述し本症に對し諸家の注意を喚起する所大であつた。ひるがえつて本邦の文献を渉獵するに，田中文男，笠井經夫（1921）の2例を嚆矢とし，その後岡田和一郞，加藤繁三，山本常一，田中香苗，今井龍雄，蒲島敏雄，村谷直久，牟田哲三郞氏の報告を見るのみである。
