　緒言

　今次戰爭中及び戰爭後，口蓋扁桃腺肥大症の減少している事實を知つた我々は，これと食糧供給低下との間に密接な關聯がある事を各種の統計を基にして指摘して來た，今回は更にこれをふえんすべく，1モデル小學校學童に於ける口蓋及び咽頭扁桃腺肥大症に就て生活程度特に食生活の觀點より，兩症の態度を統計的に究明し所期の成績を得たので，茲に報告する．

Shimizu and Oike believe as the aftermath of observations made during the war, incidence of hypertrophy of tonsils and adenoids has a tenden-cy to fall as the children are poorer fed.

Among 958 chidren examined, in April 1947, in a primary school selected at random, for this purpose, the authors find a greater incidence or the affection in those who are better fed, eithef through better localities of families, whereas, those who are under fed by other reasons were relativ-ely free from it.
