I．はじめに

　頭蓋内神経鞘腫はその95％が聴神経由来といわれ残りの5％のほとんどが三叉神経より発症するといわれており，他の脳神経より発生するvon Recklinghausen病を伴わない神経鞘腫は非常に稀である．今回われわれは第X脳神経より発生したと考えられ頭蓋内外に広く伸展したdumbbell型の頸静脈孔部神経鞘腫の1例を経験し，手術的に良好な結果を得たので若干の文献的考察を加え報告する．本例は今までの同部神経鞘腫報告例のなかで最大級のものと考えられる．

The authors report a rare case of a huge jugular foramen neurinoma extending to pharyngeal region in a 69 year-old woman who visited an otolaryngologist with complaints of dysphagia, hoarseness and headache in 1984. At that time a submucosal lump was noted in her left pharyngeal region. Biopsy of the tumor proved it to be neurinoma. A CT scan disclosed a clumbell shaped jugular foramen neurinoma and noncommuni-cating hydrocephalus. Because her symptoms slowly progressed and cerebellar signs as well as signs of in-creased intracranial pressure was noted, she was refer-red to our hospital in 1986.
