Ⅰ．緒言
従来弱毒菌ないし非病原菌とみなされていたSerratia marcescens（S．marcescensと略）は，最近臨床材料からしばしば分離されるようになり，院内感染あるいは術後感染の原因菌として注目されるようになってきた．本菌は感受性のある抗生物質が意外に少ないことや，薬剤耐性になり易いこと，および本感染症ではしばしば宿主側の防御因子である免疫機能の低下が発症に重要な関係があることなどのため，治療はきわめて困難でありかつ遷延化を招きやすい特徴がある．本邦においては，本菌による髄膜炎，脳膿瘍の報告例はほとんど見あたらないが，最近われわれは，はなはだ稀と思われるS．marcescensによる脳膿瘍の1例を経験したので若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する．
Gram-negative bacilli infection has recently increased in number in the neurosurgical field and it is caused by suppression of the host's immunity which is brought by the use of cephalosporins and steroid etc. A case of brain abscess due to serratia marcescens in a twenty-year-old female is reported. The patient was admitted to Nippon Medical School hospital on April 20, 1978, because of disturbance of consciousness and left hemiparesis following an attack of SAH on April 9, 1978.
Right carotid angiography and CT scan suggested an intracerebral hematoma in the right parieto-occipital region.
