Ⅰ．序論

　疼痛発作後，急激にparaplegiaをきたす疾患の1つとして，急性脊髄硬膜外血腫が挙げられる．本疾患はその大部分が，いわゆる"特発性"として報告されている^8，22）．今同我々は，詳細な病理組織学的検索の結果，血腫の原因として動静脈奇形が最も考えられた症例を経験したので診断および治療上の問題点を中心に報告する．

We have reported a case of acute spinal epidural hematoma due to a hemorrhage of spinal epidural arteriovenous malformations.

A 47-year-old man was admitted to the department of Neurosurgery Kitasato University with chief complaints of sudden onset of severe pain in his right shoulder blade, complete paralysis of both legs and complete loss of sensations below the mamillar line. In his past history he had a transient attack of pain in the same region.
