Ⅰ．緒言

　最近注目をあびるようになったatlanto-axial dislocation（以下A．-A．1）．と略す）は，成因については種々の説があり，歯状突起の形態異常の有無及び程度によって治療法も異り，論議の多い症候群である．

　1933年Robersts^40）がodontoid agenesisを報告して以来，レ線診断，症状，成因，治療等に関する報告も数多くみられている，本邦では志田^45）によるodontoidfractureの1例報告にはじまり，荒木^4）は1961年歯突起欠損の1例を報告している．数例以上の経験をまとめたものは大河内^36）による報告が最初であり，横田^51）は小児例3例の経験を発表している．最近では長島による病態生理，手術等に関する報告^{32，32，34）}がある．

Thirty cases of atlanto-axial dislocation were investigated and the results are reported. These may be divided into 2 groups; (a) 15 cases of abnomalities of the odontoid process, i. e. 7 cases of Os odontoideum, 7 cases of fractured odontoid, 1 case of deformed odontoid, and (b) 15 cases with no abnormalities of the odontoid process. Neurological signs were noted in 14 cases which may be divided into the following three types, i. e. acute, recurrent, and chronic-progressive.
