抗生剤はいうに及ばず，いかなる薬剤も血液脳関門を通過しうる量が限られているといわれている，薬剤によっては，たとえばチオペンダールナトリウム（ラボナール）のごとく，ほとんど全龍がこの関門を通過しうるものと，ほとんど通過できないものとがあり，われわれ脳外科医の感染防禦対策の泣きどころとなっている．脳以外の臓器であれば，血中濃度さえ高めてやれば奏効するわけである．抗生剤のなかでもChloramphenicolのごときはよく髄液中に移行しうることが従来より知られており，非炎症性髄膜例で髄液中／血中濃度＝1／4といわれている5）．
もちろん，血液脳関門と血液髄液関門とは同じでないが著者は便宜上髄液中への抗生剤の移行度を測定した．
There were 35 cases, treated with Cephaloridine or Cephalothin after neurosurgical operation.

Antibiotics was not exceptionally, therefore we, neuro-logical surgeon, must select the effective drug to bacterium, that which penetrated enough to the intracranial organ through the blood-brain barrier.
In this paper, we measured the concentration of Cepha. loridine and Cephalothin into cerebrospinal fluid in the cases with non inflammatory meninges.
