Ⅰ．はじめに

　外頸動脈系と海綿静脈洞との間に生じる動静脈瘻は硬膜動静脈瘻（dural arteriovenous fistula）の1つであり比較的稀なものであるが，一般によく知られている内頸動脈海綿静脈洞瘻と同じく眼球突出，頭蓋内雑音等の原因として重要なものであろう．我々の経験した非外傷性外頸動脈海綿静脈洞瘻の2症例を紹介すると共に，海綿静脈洞が関与する動静脈瘻について考察を加えたい．

Dural arteriovenous (A-V) fistula in the region of the cavernous sinus is thought to he responsible for most of spontaneous carotid-cavernous fistulae. We have reported 2 cases of external carotid-cavernous sinus fistula of spontaneous onset.

Case 1. A 27-year-old housewife was referred to our department because of left-sided exophthalmos of more than 3 months duration. There was no history of head injury. On examination she had non-pulsating slight exophthalmos with mild conjunctival injection in the left eye. Movements of the eyeballs were normal.
